finger printing

I resent the fact that in order to get a job in the U.S. these days, one has to be fingerprinted and put into the government data base. I've been avoiding this for years on principle. But, the job climate being what it is these days, even for a part time, temporary job, I've got to be fingerprinted. I have to fit into the system. The system that slowly kills the soul out of everyone who enters it. How can I maintain my soul?
