Dismaland

Artwork at "Dismaland" - a one-month art installation event currently taking place in England.

The theme park is a pessimistic display of the dismal reality of our culture and society versus the optimistic "be happy, joy joy, capitalist, escapist world of Disneyland.

It is a brilliant idea dreamed up primarily by the street artist Bansky who also brought in 60 artists from around the world to contribute their art into the show. This show is a political statement that is receiving worldwide attention as both a site in which up to 4000 people can go in to the park and is a news story.

I apologize for not knowing the names of the artists who whose works I am posting here, but chose to honor "Dismaland" by posting some of the pieces here on my blog.

This show once again brings up the question: what Art am I here to make?
