Good news.
I just rented my first public art studio space in an industrial building in S.F. It houses over 100 artists. So, in a sense, I've just moved into my first experience of having a space to go to outside of my apartment, to be around other artists who are also creative beings. So, let's see how this influences my creative output/flow... and, if I per chance maybe make some new friends? Wouldn't that be a boon!!
It's been a week.
I've been driving a lot of the MFA art over to the studio. Put up a few pieces, and then, found myself listening to the inner voice within which said:
1. you must paint parts of these walls. Clean up the last person's marks and energy, to create a clean slate for me to make my own mess onto.
2. you must put in proper nails so you don't have to worry about works falling off the walls... went and bought nails with heads vs. the headless nails the works were originally hung on.
I also want to bring over a lot of my older pieces, and wouldn't it be amazing to sell a lot of the works, to get them out of my storing and into other people's homes? Will anybody like to own any of these works?
And, I am wondering what will be next re: the kind of artwork I create?
